PaperCut: Innovation and Growth in Print Management

Papercut Solution Xerox Belgium

PaperCut, the Market Leader for the Fourth Year in a Row

PaperCut has reaffirmed its position as the market leader in the IDC Device and Print Management Market Share Report 2023. For the fourth consecutive year, PaperCut tops the list with a 14.7% market share, up from last year’s 12.7%. What is even more impressive is the annual growth rate of 17.7%, which puts PaperCut ahead of all other vendors, despite a market size that grew by only 2.2%. These figures underscore not only PaperCut’s dominance in the market, but also the effectiveness of their strategy, which focuses on cloud solutions, enhanced security and sector-focused solutions for education and healthcare.

Milestones and innovations

PaperCut does not rest on its laurels and continues to innovate with regular updates and improvements. Here are some highlights:

  1. Extended Activation Period for PaperCut MF 24.0.2: PaperCut MF version 24 includes significant changes, including Internet connection and licensing requirements for all customers who upgrade. To give customers more flexibility, the activation period for version 24.0.2 has been extended from 30 to 120 days. This gives upgrading customers more time to meet the new Internet requirements without interruptions in their print management. For more information, see known issue PO-2223.
  2. System Maintenance and Transition to Google Identity Platform: To pave the way for Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication, PaperCut Hive customers will transition from Auth0 to the Google Identity Platform. This transition, scheduled for August, will cause minimal disruptions. While there will be no print interruptions, some customers may experience changes to their login procedures or password resets. More details can be found in the knowledge base article linked to the system maintenance notification in the Admin UI.
  3. Improved Print Reliability with Autopilot: PaperCut introduces Autopilot, a new and smart routing algorithm that reduces dependency on a supernode. This will significantly improve print reliability by routing print jobs to the right end users (nodes) more efficiently. Autopilot enables PaperCut Hive to take on larger deals with organizations of more than 1,000 end users. This upgrade will be rolled out in late July and will improve organizations’ printing experience with no visible changes to the PaperCut Hive admin interface.
